How Shopping For A House Is Like Dating Part 4

You have done your research, you have looked past their appearance (or tried to) and into their soul.  At some point you are going to have to speak to and actual human being.  This is where we relate to dating once again., be inquisitive, come from a place of curiosity.  Just like when you are dating, when you are speaking to the seller or the real estate agent representing the seller, do not come across as critical or uptight.  You want the sellers to want you as much as you want them.  You want to ask questions to elicit as much information as possible.  You want to seem interested but not TOO interested.  You do not want the sellers to think you are a pushover or that you have fallen so head over heals that they can walk all over you!!  This is just like dating, it is a game, I know.

Just as with dating, you will also have to answer questions.  Be truthful and brief.  Don't be so enthusiastic that you can be taken advantage of.  Remember- poker face!  In a competitive market, such as this, you want to keep your thoughts and strategies to yourself until it is time to negotiate a deal.

Above all use your brain and trust you gut.  Give yourself time to think and evaluate how you feel.  Home buying and romance are risks that make you feel vulnerable and scared.  But when you find THE ONE, you will know it is all worth it!

If you need help in this market to identify THE ONE, or help with the questions you should be asking, then think of me as your DATING CONSULTANT.  I come from a neutral place and am able to be objective.  I also know how to make your offer to purchase competitive, strong and help you win the deal! Image title
