After The Holiday

The Christmas holiday is over. I hope everyone had a fabulous week. My holiday was a little interesting. Here is what happened:   Twas the night before ChristmasAnd all through the house The floors were all creaking The cat ate the mouse.
The children were nestled Four to a bed With visions of having Their own room instead.
Out on the lawn There arose such a clatter We jumped out of bed To see what was the matter.
Cars honked and they crashed, It was not at all nice, The pipes had all broken Making water to ice.
A little old driver So lively and quick, I knew in a moment He wasn’t St. Nick
Driver 1! Driver 2! Driver 3! Driver 4! He called to them all And waited for more.
He called all the drivers, All seven of them, Let’s meet at the office We’ll file at ten.
I slowly went back  To call nine-one-one When down through the chimney St Nick he did come.
Coughing and sputtering Covered in black Your chimney is falling Apart in the back.
His eyes how they twinkled His voice remained calm He ate up the cookies He held in his palm.
He went right to work
The pipes were the first He fixed them so good They never will burst.
He finished the fix list Of so many things And whispered just tell her This is what being good brings.
He filled all the stockings with Love and with care All I could do was to Stand there and stare.
He  sprang to his sleigh As I stood in the night Merry Christmas to all And to all a good night.
