7 WAYS searching for a home to buy is like LIKE datingImage title

Way number One:

House hunting is a very emotional experience. It starts out very exciting but might wind through some disappointments before you find "the one". Sounds a bit like dating.

If house hunting is like dating then the open house is like a first date. So lets review the steps to house hunting, related to dating.

Number ONE: Do some stalking background work.

You would never go on a first date without doing research, checking Facebook, Linked In, Google, etc. See if you have any mutual friends, scan their resume, see if they are on Twitter. Same with an open house, check what the current sellers paid for the house. What updates have they made? Did they take good care of the house? How are the photos? Check the county website to see what the lot looks like, if there are any outstanding building permits.

You can use my website www.nikkiryan.com, see the Google street view, take a virtual stroll down the neighborhood streets and view other pertinent details of the property. Play investigator as much as possible.

Now you are on your way to a successful first date, I mean Open House!.
